John Coltrane was born in 1926 Hamlet, North Carolina. He originally started off playing the alto saxophone then switched to the tenor. He played with several bands such as the military band in WWII, the Eddie "Clean Head" Vinson band, Dizzy Gillespie Band, Miles Davis Quintet. He also played with musicians such as Johnny Hodges and Earl Bostic. Unfortunately, this jazz legend died on July 17, 1967 because of liver disease.

Stan Getz was born on February 2, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Stan Getz received his own saxophone at age 13, and he went on to perform with jazz legend Woody Herman. Stan earned his nickname " The Sound" by picking up the style of a warm light tone from his idol Lester Young. Stan Getz incorporated Bossa Nova ( jazz influenced music of Brazilian origin) in to his music. Stan Getz died in the year 1991.

In 1949 he made his European debut giving his last performance a few years later. Unfortunately, this co creator of bebop died a week later from his last debut on March 12, 1955 New York City.

He played with Bruce Springsteen's E street band so long with the amazing sound of the sax that they deemed it the greatest rock and roll band in the world. Clarence has developed his own imitable style which has contributed to his success. Unfortunately, Clarence died on June 18, 2011 from a massive stroke six days before his passing.
